actually, i didn’t.
i was so geeked off of my idea to make a denim clutch that i didn’t even bother to dust the thing off. i was also so geeked that i didn’t bother to use the zipper foot for my sewing machine to put in the zipper.
can i just say here that i hate hate hate sewing in zippers for some reason? they were the most painful thing for me to do in school when i studied fashion design 50 million years ago.
but that wasn’t the end of my geeked-ness. nope, sure wasn’t. i also didn’t realize my interfacing was double-sided adhesive before i ironed the thing down. that meant that my lining was sticking to the inside of the bag, which just wasn’t going to work. i worked around it, but it turned out a little errrrrr…bulkier than i had planned.
see, sometimes i get so stoked about an idea that i just jump right on in.
yes, i goes in, honey.
full throttle all like, “today is clutch day!!!!!”
it’s pretty needless to add here that my clutch had some bumps along the way, but i think it came out rather snazzy for my first go at it.
i like to create things.
all kinds of things.
i put on some music, pull a little this and a little that out of my boxes and i make my own kinda magic.
no way to be sweeter on valentine’s day than with this molten chocolate cake with maple whipped cream.

the longer my hair gets the more i feel i need to do something with it. it’s not long enough for one of those cutesy top buns just yet, but i can toss a headband on and this jeweled one (diy tutorial by whimseybox) is just the thing to knock my curly fro’ up a few notches for a funky look. and hello!! it’s so daggone easy to make. i’m actually not the blingiest person on the block, but i imagine you can go wild with trinkets to add to ribbon.

oh, and in case you’re not familiar, whimseybox is a monthly craft subscription service where you sign up, pay 15 bucks a month and get all kinds of fun diy/crafty stuff. there’s also a crafting community on the site.
if i could, i would, but i can’t so i’ll post.
here are 5 things i’d love to be eating right now instead of sippin’ water and eating a banana while acting like it’s a pineapple soda and laffy taffy.
see this right here. this is my absolute FAVE!! you hear me?? MY FAVE!!!! and i know you’re not supposed to deprive yourself of your favorites when living a healthier lifestyle, but you just don’t understand how hard i would go on this coconut cake with coconut swiss meringue buttercream.
yep, all that.
it wouldn’t even be right. in fact, let’s get on with the next thing before i get tempted to run out and purchase the ingredients.

and here comes another fave taken to a whole ‘nother level. get this, creme brulee ICE CREAM!!! now i’m sure that lindsey over at cafe johnsonia isn’t the first who’s ever done it and i’m sure there’s been plenty since (this post was published in 2007), but she sure takes a pretty picture. don’t you just wanna lick the screen right now?

ummmmmm…YUM!!!! i love a thin crispy cookie. forget those soft, gooey things. i like my cookie with a crunch. and these dark chocolate almond & orange lace cookies to me look like they are right down my cookie alley. yep-per!!

see this beauty? it’s a toffee vanilla bean bundt cake with caramel glaze and sea salt. i won’t pretend like i’ve ever had anything even similar to this cake, but just the name of it has me reaching for a fork. i didn’t even need to see a pic. but ohhhhhhh, the pic. that beautiful caramel glaze…
maybe i really don’t wanna be fit. maybe i should just toffee vanilla bean bundt cakes with caramel glaze and sea salt my life away.
yeah, i’m trippin’.
last but not least…

now you know life ain’t quite right without a chocolate chip cookie around every now and then. these here are salty chocolate chunk cookies. see, those crumbs up there? that means they’re crunchy, just like i like ’em.
okay, i know it seems like i’m on this ginormous kick after last week’s big ol’ pom pom how-to vid, but this might actually come in handy for that wedding i’m planning. and since it might be useful to me, i figured it might be useful for someone else too!
i remember when i was a little girl my pop would let me get a gigantic paper tissue flower whenever we went to king’s dominion. i doubt if they still sell them, but i thought they were the most wonderful things back then. now i can make my own! woot! woot!
